September is National Preparedness Month!

This September, Utah is joining the rest of the country in celebrating National Preparedness Month. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, National Preparedness Month offers the chance for all of us to assess our own level of preparedness for any kind of emergency or disaster.

Utah's strong network of alert citizens provides this state with an important tool in our response to terrorism and natural disasters. The continued vigilance of the general public is a key component in the ongoing efforts to protect our state from harm. Citizens can increase our state's ability to respond to any disaster by preparing a 72 - hour kit, developing a family and personal emergency preparedness plan and becoming informed about potential hazards in our state.
