This program focuses on reducing the rising rate of motorcycle crashes resulting in injuries and fatalities. The program includes support for various campaigns and events including Drive Aware. Ride Aware., Share the Road, educational opportunities at safety fairs, motorcycle events and driver education classes.
The Drive Aware. Ride Aware. campaign was launched in 2008 to increase awareness of motorcycle safety in Utah.

Motorcycle riders now account for one out of every nine U.S. road fatalities each year, with motorcyclist deaths from traffic crashes rising each of the last nine years. Utah has shown an upward trend in the motorcycle serious injury and fatality rate, mirroring the national numbers.

The goal of this project is to increase motorcycle safety awareness and educate motor vehicle drivers to drive aware and motorcyclists to ride aware.

Utah motorcyclists who have not taken a rider education course have been 15 times more likely to be killed in a motorcycle crash than those who have completed a training course. Classes are available for both beginning and experienced riders. To schedule your training or to learn more, call 1-800-532-7691.
